In addition to all the great online resources available on the District Portal, our media program also using the following technology resources. 

AR Bookfinder - This link allows students, teachers, and parents to search for books with a corresponding Renaissance Accelerated Reader quiz. You can searcher books in English or Spanish using criteria such as ATOS book level or a Lexile™ measure, interest level, title, author, fiction/nonfiction, subject, award-winners, and state lists. All Accelerated Reader quizzes will be taken through the District Portal under Renaissance Place- AR.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration can be accessed by clicking on nasa.gov. It is an excellent source of information for research and keeping up with NASA's discoveries and news updates.

SPACE STATION EXPLORERS connects people with the International Space Station through exciting and unique learning experiences. The web-based resources and hands-on programs engage learners in authentic science practice while evoking the thrill of living in space! By visiting this site you will be able to select various stories astronauts read in space.  It is a very exciting experience.

Library of Congress website contains valuable information about primary sources. It also feature "Classroom Materials at the Library of Congress".

Storyline Online 

​

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Daytime Emmy®-nominated and award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online®, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, Viola Davis, Terry Crews, Connie Britton, John Lithgow, Jennifer Garner, Betty White and dozens more.

Storyline Online receives over 140 million views annually from children all over the world.

Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading. Teachers use Storyline Online in their classrooms, and doctors and nurses play Storyline Online in children’s hospitals.

Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.

Book Creator is a wonderful tool for teachers and students to create, read, and publish their own work. It allows for real-time collaboration with students.

Students and teachers can work together seamlessly, across multiple devices, with real-time feedback. By turning on collaboration, it lets your students work on a book at the same time! This feature is only provided in Book Creator online.

Pear Deck is a tool that engages students in your class, every day. Pear Deck for Google Slides Add-on adds a magical feeling to formative assessments and interactive questions to your presentations right from Google Slides. Students are given a session code for each of your Pear Decl Presentations.

Online Resources used from the District Portal

The media program teaches students how to access all these resources and implements them in media lessons. Students can click on the picture below to log into their Students Portal. The resources below offer Destiny (online library catalog), eBooks from Tumblebooks and MackinVia, research from BrainPop, PebbleGo, WorldBook (Advanced, Kids, Discover, Early Learning), SIRS Researcher, Gale Research.

Click https://www.mysdpbc.org/sso/portal and login to your student portal.  These wonderful resources will enhance student learning, curiosity,  reading skills, and overall learning advantages.
