Contributing to Professional Growth
My goal is to continue to advocate for our media program by attending School Advisory Meetings, provide more trainings for parents through Parent University, continue with personal professional growth, as well as create more staff developments. In addition, work with the PTA to organize more events for next school year. Most importantly, demonstrate our success of our program at the district, state, and national levels. One of the best attributes of a great leader is leading by example. Throughout my career, I have found it to be the most effective way. As media specialists, we impact the whole school, students and teachers. Teachers see what we are doing and implement the digital tools in their instruction and projects.
Opening up a brand new school and media program is a monumental task. I am extremely happy with all that we have achieved this school year. I am very proud of creating, building, and always improving for our students' overall growth academically and socially. The media program is the foundation for developing positive experiences with books and technology, creating digital citizens, character education building, and becoming life-long-learners in an age of technology and information. Within this foundation, the library feeds the mind, builds good characters, and nurtures the soul. We are the heart and fuel of creating and inspiring life-long learners.
