INSTRUCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP & COLLABORATION
*Read for the Record- Collaboration with Spanish River H.S.
Read for the Record is a great opportunity for Blue Lake Media Program to collaborate with Spanish River High School Media Program. We have the privilege of hosting the high schoolers to come to our school to read Jumpstart’s 2024 Read for the Record Book Selection: Piper Chen Sings by Grammy winner and Tony-nominated actress Phillipa Soo, Maris Pasquale Doran and illustrated by Qin Leng.
Every year our students get excited to have high school students read to them. A Pear Deck presentation is prepared ahead of time to help guide discussion questions about the story. The high school students do a terrific job and are a great role-model for our younger students. The collaboration is truly a success and very valuable.
*Scholastic Fall Book Fairs -Collaboration with PTA
Enjoy the Movie Trailer to promote our Book Fair
The book fair week was a wonderful time to promote, create excitement for reading, and motivate students to continue to read. Students had an opportunity to purchase various genres of books, writing journals, activities kits, and much more. We hosted a wonderful Parent Night for all family members to attend. Since our Family Night was early in the school year and just recently opening our doors, we had a huge turnout. The families got a first look into our library and media program. I thank all the families that came out for the event and had it such a great success. Building a partnership with our parents and community is vital to our school and media program.
